This course will provide your FTOs with the current trends and best practices for effective and successful Field Training. All participants in this class will be performing mock teaching, evaluating, and documenting while in class instead of just receiving lecture from an instructor.

The course will provide students with an enhanced understanding of social media management and enable social media users to actively capture their audience, increase following, and create meaningful content. Students will learn field proven marketing strategies to create content, schedule pre-set social media posts, and enhance the user experience. This course also discusses image, video, and audio editing software alternatives.

This course addresses the nuances of body language when broadcasting potential violent attacks during field contacts (street & correctional setting). This course provides participants with the science behind the human factors involved before, during, and after the act of violence is carried out so that they can do this:  Prevent it before it happens , recognize it while it’s about to happen, mitigate it while it’s happening, control it after it has happened.

Participants will be provided with evidence-based information to apply passive and active countermeasures during a field encounter on the street and in a correctional setting. This presentation involves lecture and demonstration of the skills discussed during class.

This course combines lecture, video analysis and reality based force-on-force drills to illustrate the most common pre-assault indicators in which officers are being killed while confronting criminal gunmen. Students will learn proxemics, body mechanics and ranges of motion as they relate to the dynamics of an attack, either methodical or sudden. Students will also learn how to recognize and safely anticipate to an ambush attack while deploying effective countermeasures.

  This course is a comprehensive 16-hour training program designed to equip law enforcement professionals with the essential communication and media relations skills required for effective public information dissemination. Participants will gain a deep understanding of the PIO role, develop proficiency in building and maintaining media relationships, and acquire practical skills for crisis communication. The course covers a range of topics, including verbal and non-verbal communication strategies, social media management, press release writing, and public speaking techniques. Through interactive workshops, role-playing exercises, and case studies, participants will have the opportunity to apply their skills in realistic scenarios. The course emphasizes ethical considerations, technology utilization, and the ability to navigate challenging situations. Upon successful completion of the program, participants will receive a certificate, marking their readiness to serve as effective PIOs within their law enforcement agencies.
