Antonio Zarzoza, known to many as “Instructor Z,” is the founder of Pinnacle K9 and a highly experienced professional dog trainer with more than 20 years of experience working with dogs of all breeds, ages, and temperaments. His work has consistently focused on strengthening communication between dogs and handlers through structure, clarity, and relationship-based training.
Throughout his career, Antonio has helped address complex behavioral challenges, improve obedience, and develop training systems that emphasize understanding the why behind behavior, not just compliance. His approach to dog training reflects a disciplined, thoughtful methodology built on consistency, fairness, and long-term results rather than quick fixes.
Antonio founded Pinnacle K9 as a family-run venture, grounded in professional standards and a deep respect for canine behavior. His philosophy continues to shape the training culture, programs, and expectations at Pinnacle K9, ensuring that every dog and handler receives purposeful, individualized guidance.
Outside of Pinnacle K9, Antonio is a full-time, 20+ year law enforcement veteran for a state agency in Texas, where he serves as a Lead Instructor and Training Coordinator at an advanced law enforcement training center. That background brings a high level of structure, accountability, and instructional design into the foundation of Pinnacle K9’s training philosophy.
Antonio is a graduate of the Michael Ellis School for Dog Trainers in California and Global K9 in Texas. He is also the proud pet parent of three Xoloitzcuintle dogs and one Czech-line German Shepherd, further reinforcing his lifelong connection to working and companion dogs alike.
